“On the Way to Yosemite” – Graphite, 9×12

Pencil Sketch: Yosemite Barn

I feel like I should celebrate somehow. This is my 300th post here at A Day Not Wasted. Thanks so much to everyone who participates in the challenges. It has been a lot of fun and I am looking forward to seeing many more! Anyway, above is my pencil sketch for this month’s challenge. I really like working in graphite and decided that would be my goal for this month’s challenge. Working in graphite is a study in relative values and dialing in the right amount of detail to convey the impression. Just like painting! Keep the paintings coming. I have been really impressed with what has been submitted so far!

Have a great Sunday,
Lee

This is sweet man. I don’t see nearly enough of this style anymore. To me, and I’m sure I’m wrong about this, it seems like this is more something you would have seen about 40+ years ago.

Once again sir, very good job.

  2. Hello Lee,
