December 2010 ADNW Painting Challenge
As we say goodbye to fall, I thought it would be appropriate to select a nice autumn photo for December’s painting challenge. When I saw this bridge while wandering Central Park a few weeks ago, I actually thought it was the very same one featured in a Perry Brown oil painting I own. I checked when I got home and, although it is very similar, it does not appear to be the same bridge. Oh well, it is a nice bridge anyway. I was happy to get this shot when I did because the woman as my subject contrasts nicely against the shadow of the underside of the bridge. I also like the light and shadow that is scattered across the walkway. There are lots of possibilities here for your paintings so dig in and have a blast!
Please use the form below to submit your painting by the last day of December. Your picture should be a high-quality jpg image that is at least 480 pixels along its longest dimension at 72 pixels per inch.

I travel the world in search of beauty and bring home what I see through my lens.
By sharing what I learn along the way, I hope to inspire others to pursue their passions daily.
Looking forward to painting this. I feel it’s one of the most painterly-friendly photos you’ve assigned. Especially love the dark trunks against the light background – so classic.
Oh I love this – I will definitely be painting!
