Bellagio Alley
from $143.50
This image was taken in the town of Bellagio, Italy on Lake Como. The rustic Italian architecture on a sun-drenched September day made for a perfect scene in this charming alleyway. This image presents with a distressed texture to complement the spirit of the scene. Please see the catalog for traditional black and white and sepia versions of this piece.

Hong Kong Junk
from $143.50
This photographs show one of the few remaining junk boats left in Hong Kong Harbor. This one is used for tourist rides. The thick, humid atmosphere separates the modern Hong Kong skyline from the traditional design of the junk. I feel that this image looks especially nice in the floating frame options but feel free to choose the full frame options if you prefer.

Venice Canal
from $143.50
A quiet canal in Venice, Italy illuminated by beautiful Italian sunlight and thick atmosphere. This photograph brings any room to life with its classic Italian feel and old world charm. I feel that this photograph looks very nice in the black or wood frame options.

Graphite Portrait
I figure I am kidding myself to think I can paint a portrait if I can’t draw one. So, more drawing it is. I am trying to focus on the anatomical foundation of facial features as well as the delicate values that define them. I don’t think I would ever paint to this level of [...]
Richard Schmid “The Landscapes” Book Review

There is a Santa Claus!
What to my wondering eyes should appear, but the FedEx man with a package full of Christmas cheer! So I mentioned a couple of posts ago that I have been pouring over my new Richard Schmid book, “The Landscapes.” Unfortunately the bindery on the huge hard bound book had a problem near the front. Considering [...]
Lake Garda Hotel Sketch
This is a sketch of a really sweet looking hotel we saw while visiting Lake Garda in Italy last summer. It was a beautiful clear day and the harsh light on the building caught my eye. I am trying to focus on values and edges at the moment and sketching seems like the best way [...]
English Cottage Sketch
I’ve been pouring over my new Richard Schmid book, “The Landscapes,” for the past week feeling motivated and wholly inadequate at the same time. I have to keep telling myself that this guy has a few decades of canvas on me. What was also mildly depressing was that the paintings in the book from 1967 [...]
DSFDF Portrait Challenge Drawing
It has been a while since I have participated in a “Different Strokes for Different Folks” challenge but this one looked like fun! At the end of the year, Karin Jurick asks participants to photograph themselves and email her the photo. She then randomly takes the photo of another participant and sends it to you [...]

I travel the world in search of beauty and bring home what I see through my lens.
By sharing what I learn along the way, I hope to inspire others to pursue their passions daily.
